One in five adults snuggles up with a teddy in bed.
A poll of 2,000 Brits aged between 18-65 found that just under 22% of us sleep with a cuddly toy. With around 40m Brits aged between 18-65, that works out at a whopping 8.8m adults who sleep with a fluffy toy.
Gen Zers aged 18-24 were most likely, with 37% having a stuffed toy they slept with, followed by 29% of those aged 25-34, and 22% of those aged 35-44. A total of 15% of those aged 45-54 had a special fluffy friend they cuddled up to in bed, who 11% of those aged 55-65 admitting it.

Women were more likely than blokes, with 65% of those who admitted sleeping with a teddy being women and 35% men. Southerners – often labelled ‘softies by ‘tough’ northerners – were top of the tree, with 25% saying they slept with a ted – although Scots were just behind, with 24%.
Davina Sanderson, 38, of Maidstone, Kent, said she had a fluffy teddy which she’s had since she was a toddler. The full time mum-of-two said: “My gran gave me a toy teddy when I was two and he’s been in my bed ever since.
“He’s called Cuddles, and my two daughters – aged six and nine – always want to play with him, but I’m reluctant to let them in case they try to take Cuddles with them to their own beds. He’s mine!!!! They have hundreds of other fluffy toys to choose from.”
A spokesman for sleep experts Emma said: “Our research found that almost a quarter of us sleep with a favourite stuffed toy, with Southerners and Scots top of the pile.”
