Putins next career move predicted by AI – from peace ambassador to sports coach

Russian President Vladimir Putin has many qualifications under his despotic belt including a law degree and a PhD in economics, not to mention his 15-year stint working as a spy for the KGB.

So, if he fails to be re-elected as the President of Russia and add to his 24-year long authoritarian reign, you'd think his next career move would be that within his expertise – not being a peace ambassador.

But that's one job artificial intelligence has predicted for Mad Vlad… despite him launching a vicious invasion of Ukraine last year, to mention just one horrifying thing he's done.

Stay up to date with Vladimir Putin's leadership here.

When asked by the Daily Star what non-political roles Putin could pursue if he were no longer President of Russia, Google's AI Bard listed five possible options.

It comes after Putin announced he will stand for president again in the 2024 elections.

This means the despot will potentially remain in power until 2030, aged 78, unless ill health or opposition and enemies boot him out first.

Putin's victory in securing his fifth term as president seems all but inevitable at this stage, having brutally and dictatorially ruled over Russia for the past two decades.

The tyrant has twice used his power to amend the constitution and unless he is ousted or dies, he could potentially stay in power until he is a very, very old man.

But, if all this doesn't work out for some reason, here's what he could be doing instead…

Peace ambassador

The AI said Putin has a "unique understanding of the world's geopolitical landscape" and more bizarrely "a strong desire to promote peace and cooperation".

It added: "He could use his influence to mediate conflicts, promote dialogue and foster understanding between different cultures."

Erm… are we talking about the same Putin here?

Author

Putin has already written some books so this career idea doesn't seem too far-fetched. He is author to First Person: An Astonishingly Frank Self-Portrait by Russia's President, in which he is said to subject himself to scrutiny and reveal his past.

An avid lover of sport, the despot has also written a book on Judo called Judo: History, Theory, Practice.

The AI wrote: "Putin has a gift for storytelling and a deep understanding of Russian history and culture. He could use his writing skills to author books on various topics including his political experiences, Russian history and even fictional works."

Environmental activist

Russia’s efforts to tackle climate change remain very low, according to Climate Action Tracker. The country's few relevant policies are "unambitious or have an unclear expected effect on emissions", it states on the website.

And, so, it's a bit weird that AI chose environmental activist as a job for Putin…

"Putin has a deep appreciation for Russia's natural beauty and a strong commitment to environmental protection," it said. "He could use his platform to raise awareness about environmental issues and advocate for sustainable practices."

Sports coach

Perhaps the only job that actually makes sense? Vlad is well known to be active and has gone viral many a time for baring his hairy chest while horse riding.

His passion is judo and karate, but he also enjoys mountain skiing, hiking and even car racing – and up until recently was reported to have been in brilliant physical health for his age.

"Putin is an avid athlete and has a natural ability to motivate and inspire others," wrote the AI. "He could use his skills to coach or mentor athletes, or even establish a foundation to promote sports education and participation."

Filmmaker

Not sure if a film by Putin would be a massive flop or huge success?! Either way, it is possible he could produce or direct films based on his books – but would perhaps have trouble finding a production company that would touch it with a barge pole.

AI Bard wrote: "Putin has a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of human psychology. He could use these skills to direct or produce films that explore complex themes such as leadership, power and conflict resolution."

Bard said these jobs would "allow Putin to leverage his unique talents and experiences to make a positive impact on the world in a different way".

"His insights, leadership qualities, and commitment to service would undoubtedly be valuable assets in any of these fields," it added.
