A wildfire burning in northwest Colorado saw recent growth this week due to hot, windy and dry conditions.
The Pike Ridge Fire, north of Garfield County Road 256 near Douglas Pass, was estimated to be about 100 acres Monday after seeing the growth due to weather conditions.
The fire was first reported Aug. 13 by the Bureau of Land Management. The fire is burning on land managed by the agency. It was originally about two acres when first reported.
Air resources were used on the fire, the agency reported Monday, but weather conditions restricted their ability to fly.
As of Monday, crews were preparing areas around the fire to find opportunities to try to suppress the fire.
