A veteran "hood explorer" claims his eyes were left "watering" by the overwhelming stench of "human s**t" as he explored a forgotten city.
YouTuber Spanian was taking a look around some of the most deprived areas of the French capital Paris. He states: "I’m watching if I step on a f****** syringe – why the hell did I walk here what was I thinking?” “Poorest part of Paris,” or Clichy-sous-Bois is located around 15km east of the city centre and in the words of Spanian is “the middle of nowhere”.
“How miserable to be so isolated – no trains, no major roads,” he said as he first walked into the commune, which was the epicentre of the infamous 2005 Paris riots which rocked the capital for three weeks. “No wonder they’re kicking riots off,” he added.

Throughout the video, one recurring theme is that some of the apartments in the huge housing blocks “look like they were on fire.” He later added: “It’s just a consistent thing that buildings all look like they’ve been on fire at some stage."
“There’s pigeons living in one of those,” he says as he zooms in on an upper-floor flat with no windows and what looks like black soot marks on the wall around it.
“Every car here’s like abandoned and burnt out,” he says, pointing his camera at two side-by-side motors with no headlights and missing a number of features. Many of the flats in the huge looming towers are clearly smashed, while grass and weeds sprout up through every crack in the ground possible.
One of the apartment blocks is open and he walks into the lobby, the ceiling blackened. “It’s like every one of these buildings has been set on fire but people just continue to live in it.”
He walks into a near-empty shopping centre, barely any shops are open and a handful of people loiter in the chillingly-empty concourses.
As he walks through another block, again seemingly burnt in the past he shudders. “That was human s***.”
Inside the lobbies, there is graffiti, and poo, in abundance. “These are the worst condition flats I have ever been in,” Spanian says. “It’s like there’s no attempt anymore.”
He later makes his way around the back of another block, past a burnt-out car. As he walks he notes: “This place is crazy – the whole place smells like human s*** I’m not going to lie.”
As he reflects on the neighbourhood's troubled past he finds photographs from roughly around the time of riots plastered into a cracked bit of walling. There are few people about as he makes his video and by the end of it he seems desperate to get away.
