Prince William and Kate Middleton might visit Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in January to celebrate the Duchess of Cambridge's 40th birthday, a royal author has claimed.
There have been rumours that Harry and Meghan had fallen out with William and Kate, which have intensified since the Sussexes moved across to the US in 2020.
However, royal author Stewart Pierce rubbished this speculation, claiming that Harry and his brother “speak everyday virtually”.
The Cambridges’ children are yet to meet their cousin Lilibet, who was born in June. But with Kate’s 40th birthday approaching, royal author Stewart Pierce has suggested the new year might be an opportune time for a stateside visit.
Speaking on the Royally Us podcast, host Christina Garibaldi asked Stewart: “Are there plans for Kate and William to visit Harry and Meghan potentially?"
“That’s what I’ve heard,” the author replied. “Particularly around the middle part of January to celebrate the wonder of being 40 – Kate’s 40th birthday.
“And for the children to meet one another, and be friendly and do all sorts of wonderful family things.”
But, with intense media attention surrounding Meghan and Harry, Stewart acknowledged that the visit might be a private one like Kate and William's family trip to Jordan.
“Particularly in that location which is just so easy to access the beach, and to go for wonderful cycle rides without being too disturbed by the paparazzi or by people who are overeager in wanting to meet," he continued.
“But I feel it’s going to be just as well managed as the recent Cambridge trip to Jordan, which very few people knew about."
Christina agreed, saying: “I feel like this would definitely be a secret trip because the paparazzi and the media would have a frenzy with this one.”
The pair also discussed how Harry and Meghan might fit in with the Queen’s traditional festive celebration at Sandringham, with the couple seemingly unlikely to make the trip across the pond.
“Because both Harry and Meghan are extremely extroverted people, they will be interested in sharing their Christmas in Los Angeles, and also being part of the Sandringham Christmas,” Stewart suggested.
So, he explained that the ex-royals might hook up with their family members over Zoom, as another royal commentator claimed that the Queen might send the couple "formal gifts" to avoid a snub.
