Prince Harry fans rage at inappropriate outfit decision during procession

Royal fans were left fuming when they saw Prince Harry in his morning suit instead of a military uniform during the royal procession for Queen Elizabeth II.

The Duke of Sussex, who stepped down as a senior working royal in January 2020, was "banned" from wearing a military outfit at the Queen's funeral or the events leading up to it.

Harry responded last week to the decision and a spokesman for the Duke published a statement, which read: "Prince Harry will wear a morning suit throughout events honouring his grandmother.

"His decade of military service is not determined by the uniform he wears and we respectfully ask that focus remain on the life and legacy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II."

He was seen walking side by side next to his brother, William, the new Prince of Wales and their cousin Peter Philips behind the Queen's coffin today (September 14).

They accompanied King Charles III on foot throughout the procession from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall, with the Queen leaving her home for the final time.

Fans who have been watching the event online shared their thoughts on Twitter, with many raging that Harry was not in uniform while other members of the Royal Family were.

One said: "Prince Harry not being in uniform with his brother and father is incredibly jarring.

"He served his country well. Not his fault his wife was bullied out."

"Putting Harry on the same level as Andrew and not allowing him to wear a Military Uniform is a national disgrace!" a second penned.

Another said Harry, who saw action on the frontline during two tours of duty in Afghanistan, should be allowed to wear his military uniform.

"Really seems inappropriate to me that Prince Harry isn't allowed to wear his military uniform because he's not a 'working royal' but he's the one who actually saw combat in Afghanistan?" a third added.

"If the monarchy is trying to stay 'relevant' this seems like a bad move."
