Police hunting four men after woman, 21, ‘gang raped in park’

Police are on the hunt for four men suspected of gang raping a 21-year-woman in a park.

The victim was sexually assaulted in High Hazels Park, Sheffield, at around 6pm on Monday, November 23, according to officers.

South Yorkshire Police say two of the men involved were Eastern European and between 18 and 20 years old.

According to the force, the other two men were Asian – with one thought to be around 18 years old.

Officers have said extra police patrols are being carried out in the wake of the attack in a bid to reassure local residents of their safety.

Detective Inspector Ben Wood said: "I understand that news of this incident is likely to cause distress and concern among the local community and it is obviously of the utmost importance we identify those involved as soon as possible.

"I want to reassure you that we have officers dedicated to progressing this investigation so we can identify these individuals."

Witnesses or anyone with information about the incident are urged to come forward.

DI Wood said: "Even the slightest bit of information could greatly assist our enquiries."

Earlier this month, a former teaching assistant and dance instructor was jailed for having sex with his underage students.

Brett Bullock, 28, from Newquay in Cornwall, had sex or engaged in sexual activity with five young girls, the majority of whom he taught.

He was convicted by a jury of four counts of rape, assault by penetration and two counts of penetrative sexual activity with a child at Truro Crown Court.
