The model who was photographed topless on board a boat with Princess Eugenie's husband Jack Brooksbank has apologised if she caused the royal pair any "embarrassment".
Beverley Hills-based Erica Pelosini was pictured on a vintage speedboat with two friends and Jack Brooksbank over the weekend after he visited the famous serene Italian coast for a charity event.
However, eyebrows were raised regarding photos which were taken while Princess Eugenie was stuck at home with the couple's five-month-old baby, August.
The wealthy model who lives in Los Angeles told the Mail Online that she "regrets" it and understands how the photos could be "misinterpreted".
Erica said: "I usually never go topless, but my bikini got wet and I decided to take it off. I know it does not look right for Jack and his family. I felt very bad for them when I saw the images of him surrounded by three women because his wife was not there.
"It led people to make improper suggestions and jump to conclusions and it's very hurtful that people are thinking this. I'm very sorry if I caused any embarrassment to Princess Eugenie and Jack. It wasn't appropriate for me to be topless."
Jack Brooksbank was on the island of Capri due to his work as a brand ambassador for Casamigos tequila and spent the afternoon leading up to the charity ball eating out and socialising on the boat.

Rachel Zalis, a former editor of Glamour magazine who is now Casamigos's global director, and Maria Buccellati, a model turned fashion ambassador were the two other woman photographed with Jack and Erica.
Erica describes Jack as a "dear" friend for many years and was upset that people could think they were doing the "wrong things".
Erica said: "Looking at the images, I can understand how they could be misinterpreted. I'm topless, Maria is hugging him, and Rachel is also a very beautiful woman, but people are assuming the wrong things."

The group hired the boat so they could eat at a Erica's favourite restaurant that was more easily accessed by boat and then stopped for a swim after a "beautiful Italian summer day" on the way back to the hotels.
Erica insists that Jack spoke about his new baby and showed the group photos saying how much he missed him.
After the photos were taken Erica spoke with Jack but he told her there was "nothing to worry about".
Erica has been married to husband Louis Leeman, one of the world's leading shoe designers, for seven years and chose to speak out after she was portrayed as "some kind of bimbo".
'I'm not just a pretty face in a bikini hanging about on a speedboat. I'm a hard work who has established herself in the fashion world," she professed.
