Man ‘watches wife’s best friend naked in shower after installing spy camera’

A man has been accused of installing a spy camera to watch his wife's best friend shower.

The discovery was made when a woman found a device drop to the floor as she took a shower.

She was left horrified to find out a camera had allegedly been installed to spy on her.

Identified by her pseudonym, victim Xiao Ni told police she saw the device fall while she was in the bathroom.

The accused, identified only as Sheng, is said to have been arrested and confessed he fitted the camera on impulse because he was "looking for some excitement".

Xiao Ni and Sheng's wife Xiao Jia had lived together in a dormitory owned by their company in Hangzhou, in the eastern Chinese province Zhejiang, for several years.

However, when the couple married in June she moved out – with the device then said to have been fitted the next month while the two women were out having a meal together.

The victim, who is in her early 20s left her room unlocked while out because she was familiar with everyone living in the complex.

But on discovering the device on July 23, she took it round to Sheng and Xiao Jia's home to see if they knew what it was.

The accused is said to have told her it was a spy camera but pretended he was in shock – telling the women it was "outrageous".

However, Xiao Ni called the police on returning home and a check of CCTV is said to have shown Sheng within the complex on July 22.

He was detained and confessed on August 3, according to the report, which describes how the camera had been glued underneath the sink.

In less than 24 hours it had already captured seven clips, with wife Xiao Jia describing the act as "disgusting", police said.

Sheng remains in custody with the police investigation ongoing.
