A “relevant clue” in the search for Madeleine McCann at a reservoir has been found by investigators.
The Barragem do Arade reservoir – around 30 miles from where the British girl went missing in Praia da Luz in 2007 – had been cordoned off all week as officials from Portugal, Germany and the UK follow a recent lead.
The search was believed to have been sparked by the discovery of photos and videos showing prime suspect Christian Brueckner, 45, near the reservoir.

And despite the search ending earlier this week, the Correio da Manga newspaper has claimed that a “relevant clue” was found.
Although they did not go into detail as to what the clue was, they did confirm that all items found during the three-day search would be analysed by Germany officials.
The news outlet reports that items found included a bra strap, “pieces of clothing” and plastic objects – none of which have been officially confirmed to be connected to the case.
They also confirmed that Portuguese authorities do not believe that the items found “help to discover” what happened to the missing girl.
During the search, German prosecutor Christian Wolters said: "Of course there is a certain expectation, but it is not high. Of course we are still looking for the body.

“We're not just looking for that, of course there are other things too. Any discovery of clothing could help the investigation."
It has not been confirmed how long the items will take to be analysed, but several news outlets are reporting that it could be around a month or so before Gerry and Kate McCann hear back.
The McCann's have not commented on the search, or the latest comments from officials involved with it.
