Kung-fu style street fight sees brawlers ‘hurl glasses and bottles at passersby’

Three people were arrested after a violent brawl broke out on the street in Dublin on Friday night.

The brutal fight occurred at around 9:30pm on South William Street – where several incidents of anti-social behaviour have taken place over the last few weeks, according to Dublin Live.

The video starts off showing two people attempting to move back the four-person gang, with one of them throwing a chair or bar stool at the men in the process.

One of the men chases the gang further down the street while holding a table, and an inaudible exchange between the two groups occurs.

The situation escalates further when the gang begin throwing glass bottles at the other people, one of whom produces kung-fu style spinning kicks to protect themselves.

A brutal fistfight then breaks out and members of the public intervened.

One person was taken to St James´s Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Gardai attended the scene and arrested three men, one in their late teens and two in their early 20s.

A spokesperson for An Garda Siochana told Dublin Live: "Gardaí are investigating reports of a group of four persons causing a disturbance on South William Street, Dublin 2, on 17/06/2021 at approximately 9.30pm.

"It is reported the group threw glass and glass bottles at people in the area. One victim attended St. James Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

"Garda attended the scene and three men, two early 20s and one in their late teens, were arrested and taken to Pearse Street Garda Station."

Investigations are ongoing and a Public Order Unit has been deployed to the area due to ongoing violent incidents in the area.

Nineteen people were arrested earlier this month following two nights of disorder on the popular street in Dublin city centre, which saw glass bottles thrown at police, according to Sky News.
