Former Greeley teacher pleads guilty to sexually assaulting teenage student

A former Greeley school teacher has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a teenage student.

Christopher Adams-Wenger, 32, pleaded guilty on Tuesday in Weld County District Court to one count of sex assault on a child by a person in a position of trust, according to a news release.

Adams-Wenger, who taught at Union Colony Preparatory School, had an “intimate relationship with a female student between March and September of 2019,” according to the district attorney’s office.

He faces a prison sentence of 12 years to life, according to the release. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for Aug. 5.
