CBS4 Denver meteorologist Lauren Whitney is expecting first child — The Know

Meteorologist Lauren Whitey, a CBS4 Denver news staffer since 2011, announced Thursday on social media, and during a news broadcast, that she and her husband are expecting their first child.

Whitney has been the evening and nighttime weather forecaster at CBS4 since 2016. Prior to her work in Denver, Whitney was the morning weather anchor in Grand Junction at KKCO-TV (NBC).

Whitney in 2019 married Walker Monfort, vice president of corporate partnerships for the Colorado Rockies baseball team, in Denver.

The couple’s child is expected before Christmas. “I am very excited to finally share our exciting news!” Whitney said on Twitter.

Whitney has a B.A. degree in Broadcast Journalism from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University, where she minored in Political Science, according to her CBS4 staff biography page.  She also has a B.S. degree in Geosciences with a concentration in Broadcast and Operational Meteorology from Mississippi State University.

She also volunteers with the Junior League of Denver — whose focus is to improve literacy rates in the Denver metro area — and she enjoys emceeing events for nonprofit organizations, including Volunteers of America and the Denver Health Foundation.
