An awkward moment between Matt Hancock and Prince Charles was caught on video during a royal visit to a hospital in London.
The Health Secretary, who was apparently branded "hopeless" by Boris Johnson in secret texts published by his former advisor Dominic Cummings, was at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital on Thursday (June 17).
In the clip, as Charles approaches, Hancock holds his elbow out towards the royal to do the Covid-safe gesture that was adopted instead of handshakes during the pandemic.
But the Prince of Wales seems to miss the point and instead of doing an elbow shake with the politician, he looks confused and holds out his hand.
As Hancock withdraws his elbow, the prince mimes doing a little dance and jokes: "Is this the Hokey Cokey?"
There is an outburst of laughter from spectators and the Health Secretary and Charles then chat briefly in the hospital foyer.
On Wednesday, June 16, Cummings released WhatsApp messages between himself and Johnson, from March 2020 at the start of the pandemic.
In one of the leaked messages, Johnson appears to slam Hancock as "Totally f****** hopeless".
He also allegedly says the obtaining of PPE has been a "disaster" and apparently suggests "taking Hancock off and putting [Michael] Gove on".
Responding to the leaked messages, Downing Street insisted the Prime Minister had full confidence in the Health Secretary.
This comes after a landlord renamed his pub "The Two Helmets" in a fresh dig at Boris Johnson and Matt Hancock.
It was previously called "The Three Bellends" and featured artwork of the PM, his former aide Cummings, and Hancock on its swimming sign.
Meanwhile, Prince Charles was branded "immensely sensitive" by Princess Diana's former voice coach who said the future king "couldn't deal" with his son Prince Harry's accusations.
The source said Charles was "shy" and "delicate".
