GB News presenter Nigel Farage reported from the English Channel and captured footage of a French Navy boat dumping a boat full of migrants into UK waters before turning back to the mainland. Mr Farage attempted to communicate with the people on the boat who did not speak much English before slamming the UK’s decision to send a further £55million to France to prevent migrant crossings. The angry reporter exclaimed why was the UK paying for a French “taxi service” which does little to prevent migrants from making the dangerous journey.

Speaking to GB News, Mr Farage was heard telling the broadcaster the French Navy have “done their job” as they escorted a migrant boat into UK waters.

He told the programme: “Here is the ship, we can see around 25 people on it… a French Naval boat shadowing this boat all the way through French waters.

“Keeping very close to it along the way, they have put it over the line to England – the French naval vessel has dumped them.

“It would appear that their engine has broken down, whether they have run out of fuel or it is an engine failure I don’t know.

“It is a very calm day so Border Force is on their way.”

Mr Farage said Border Force are “overwhelmed” with the number of boats crossing and even saw one boat carrying 13 people with little more than paddles.

Mr Farage also told GB News that he wanted the Government to solve the migrant crossings as it was dangerous for people to do.

He said he has also provided water for some refugees who have suffered from dehydration or hypothermia.

Mr Farage has been in the English Channel since early Wednesday morning where he has been reporting on behalf of GB News.

The former politician was employed full-time as a presenter and reporter for the channel which has struggled with viewership.

Migrant crossings: Host on 'controversial' legislation

Earlier this week, Good Morning Britain journalist Pip Tomson also recorded French ships escorting migrant boats into UK waters before returning back to France.

It comes as Home Secretary Priti Patel has agreed to send a further £55million to French authorities to tackle migrants crossing over to the UK.

As part of a UK-French migrant agreement, the UK would send money to France to bolster security in Calais and to increase patrols to prevent people making the crossing to the UK.

Around £115million has already been spent over the course of three years with the most recent cash injection given last November which cost £28million.

The Home Office announced a further £55million will be sent to France to deal with problems as the total number of migrants crossing is at least 8,452, according to PA.

The Nationality and Borders Bill passed its second reading in the House of Commons which government says will attempt to crack down on criminal traffickers to the UK.

The bill will increase jail sentences for those entering the country illegally and the method by which someone has entered the UK will affect their asylum application.

The House of Commons debated the bill earlier this week and voted to pass its second reading.
